Our design blends organically into the topography of the site by spreading the museum across the landscape. It starts with a distinctive small structure and develops into an undulating form inspired by the surrounding mountains. Our design takes traditional Chinese roof forms and interprets them in a modern way. The layered roofs with their skylights allow natural light into the interior, while large openings bring the landscape inside and create a seamless connection.
With respect to the water source, the user's path follows its course, creating an interactive experience. Inside, adaptable spaces provide room for different exhibitions and ensure a user-friendly and easy-to-manage environment. Our design culminates in a rooftop balcony that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, providing visitors with an immersive conclusion to their journey by embedding the timeless essence of rural China into a contemporary architectural narrative.
